Test network
Ballast runs on the GIWA Sepolia test network. Test-network ETH and tokens have no monetary value.
Tokens are speculative
Anyone can launch a token and nobody vets them. Most tokens lose most or all of their value. Names and images can imitate real people, brands or projects. Prices can move sharply within seconds, and large trades move the price against you (price impact).
How the contracts behave
Tokens trade on a bonding curve until it has sold 800M tokens; that trade graduates the token into a Uniswap v4 pool whose liquidity is locked forever. Nobody, including the Ballast team, can withdraw it.
During a launch's first minute, wallets without a Dojang Verified Address pay a snipe tax of up to 50% of their buy, falling to zero. Creators choose the rate and may choose to send their fee share to holders, and may switch that later.
What the admin can change
The launchpad owner can change, within limits written into the contracts: the trading fee (at most 2%) and its split, the launch fee (at most 0.01 ETH), the graduation target for future launches, the snipe window (at most 10 minutes), the accepted Dojang attesters, the treasury address, and whether new launches are paused. The owner cannot move curve reserves, fees owed to creators or holders, or locked pool liquidity. On the test network the owner is a single wallet of the team.
Dependencies
GIWA has no official Uniswap v4 deployment yet; Ballast uses its own deployment of the Uniswap v4 contracts, licensed for non-production use. Verification relies on Upbit's Dojang attestations. GIWA is a new network: sequencer downtime, RPC outages or, rarely, reorganised pre-confirmations can delay or change transactions.
BALLAST, the platform token
BALLAST was launched on the same curve as every token, plus a 10% team allocation vesting over 12 months. 0.15% of all launchpad volume buys BALLAST back and burns it. BALLAST is not a share: it gives no ownership, profit, dividend or voting rights. Team members may hold and trade BALLAST and other tokens.
Law and tax
Crypto-assets are regulated differently in every country and the rules are changing. You are responsible for whether you may use Ballast where you live and for any taxes.
